  4. Enable OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging Mode on Razer Phone.
  5. You must unlock the bootloader of Razer Phone.
  6. Charge your phone up to 50% to make it last through the flashing process.
  7. Use original data cable to connect your phone to your PC.
  8. Follow this guide carefully. Flashing TWRP and Rooting will void warranty. In case of a mishap, we may not be held responsible. Flash at your own risk.

Required Downloads & Installations

Download and install Minimal ADB and Fastboot Drivers on your Windows PC. You will get the ADB and Fastboot directory in C:Program Files (x86)Minimal ADB and Fastboot.

  1. Open the Minimal ADB and Fastboot.exe file from your computer’s desktop.
  2. Now connect your Razer Phone to your computer.
  3. In the command window, enter the following commands one by one.
    1. adb devices
  4. This command will return a list of attached devices with a code verifying your connection.
    1. adb reboot bootloader
      1. This command will reboot your phone in the download mode. Your phone will show the download mode on the screen as well.
    2. fastboot -i 0x1532 devices
    3. fastboot -i 0x1532 flashing unlock
      1. These commands will initiate the process of bootloader unlocking and unlock your phone’s bootloader. That’s all.

Download required files and copy to the ADB folder

Now that you have unlocked the bootloader of your phone, it’s time to install TWRP and flash Magisk on the phone. First of all, you need to download the following files and copy these files to C:Program Files (x86)Minimal ADB and Fastboot.

Copy all these files to the folder mentioned above.

Flash TWRP Recovery and Magisk on Razer Phone now

  1. At this point, make sure that your phone’s bootloader is unlocked and you have already copied the files to the ADB folder.
  2. Connect your phone to your computer now.
  3. Now open the Minimal ADB and Fastboot.exe file from your desktop. It will open the command window.
  4. Now in the command window, enter the following command: adb reboot bootloader
  5. It will reboot your phone in the download mode. It’s time to flash the TWRP image and boot your phone into the recovery.
  6. Enter the following command now: fastboot flash boot twrp-3.2.1-0-cheryl.img && fastboot reboot
  7. This command will flash the TWRP image file on your phone and also reboot your phone into TWRP.
  8. Now that your phone is in TWRP, you need to push the copied files into your phone. Enter the following commands.
    1. adb, push boot.img /sdcard
    2. adb push twrp-installer-3.2.1-0-cheryl.zip /sdcard
    3. adb push Magisk-v16.0.zip /sdcard
  9. After pushing these files, tap the Install button in TWRP. Now tap the Install IMG button.
  10. Locate the boot.img file and flash it by swiping the button.
  11. After flashing the file, get back to the main menu in TWRP and tap Install once again. This time, Install > Install Zip > select the TWRP-Installer-3.2.1-0-cheryl.zip file and then swipe the button to flash it.
  12. Get back to the main menu in TWRP now, tap Reboot > System.
  13. Your phone will now boot up. You can verify now that everything is working properly on your phone including the WiFi, Bluetooth and other things.
  14. Now in the command window, enter the following command: adb reboot recovery
  15. This will reboot your phone in the TWRP recovery again.
  16. Now in TWRP, tap Install > Install Zip > Locate the Magisk.zip file and flash it.
  17. Once you have flashed Magisk, you need to repeat the process on the other slot. To do so, tap the Reboot button in the main menu of TWRP and then switch the slots.b
  18. After switching the slots, tap the Reboot button again > select Recovery.  This will reboot your phone into recovery once again. This is done in order to force the slot change in order to flash the files properly on both the slots of the phone.
  19. Once you are in the recovery again, tap the Reboot button to verify that the slots have been swapped. Now get back to the main menu in TWRP and tap Install > Install Zip > Locate and select Magisk-v16.0.zip and then install it.
  20. Once you are done, reboot your phone into the system.
  21. You are now rooted without any issues. That’s all.

It’s been a week since the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have been updated to Android Oreo. At first, Samsung halted the update due to some technical reasons. Charge your phone up to 80% to avoid power issues during the installation process.
Backup your contacts, call logs, SMS messages and important media content.
Enable OEM Unlocking on your phone.
Enable USB debugging mode on your phone as well.
If you are using a Chinese variant of the Galaxy S8/S8 Plus, then unlock its bootloader.
While using Odin3, disable Samsung Kies if you have it installed on your PC.
Use OEM data cable to connect your phone to your PC.

Downloads required

  1. Download and install Samsung USB drivers on your PC: Download Link with Guide

Install TWRP and Root Galaxy S8/S8 Plus running Android Oreo [Exynos]

  1. Open the Odin3.exe on your computer from the extracted files in Odin.
  2. In Odin, click on the AP tab and select the recovery.tar file that you just downloaded above.
  3. The only option checked in Odin should be F.Reset Time. No other option should be ticked.
  4. Now put your Galaxy S8/S8 Plus in download mode. To do so, turn it off first. Now press and hold Volume Down + Bixby + Power button for a while. As soon as the phone turns on with a warning, press the Volume Up button to get into download mode.
  5. Connect your phone to your PC now.
  6. Odin will recognize the phone and turn the ID:COM box blue. You will also see the “Added” message in the logs box on the lower left side.
  7. Now press the “Start” button in Odin. It will begin flashing the recovery on your phone.
  8. As soon as the recovery flashing ends, disconnect your phone from your PC.
  9. Press and hold the Volume Down + Bixby + Power key once again. As soon as the screen goes black, quickly switch from Volume Down to Volume Up key while keeping Bixby and Power keys pressed.

  11. In the main menu in TWRP recovery, tap Wipe > Format Data.

  15. Now disconnect your phone.

  2. TWRP will ask you whether you want to allow modifications or not, you will need to swipe the finger to the right to enable modifications. Swiping the finger to right will trigger dm-verity if you will need to disable it immediately. Leaving it enabled will not let you boot the phone either root it.   3. Now tap “Wipe > Format Data > type “yes” to format data. This is important to disable encryption. This step will factory reset your phone, so make sure that you’ve backed up the entire data at hand.

  1. Unlocking bootloader will wipe your device. Make sure that you’ve backed up everything before going ahead.
  2. Install Huawei’s HiCare app on your phone and call the support in HiCare. Request them to get your bootloader unlock code. You will have to provide your email, IEMI and serial number.
  3. Huawei will send you your bootloader unlock code through an email in a few days or in a few hours.
  4. Make sure that you’ve downloaded and installed Minimal ADB & Fastboot drivers on your Windows PC or installed Mac ADB & Fastboot for Mac.

    This command will unlock the bootloader. As soon as you press the enter key after typing this command, you will get a message in your phone asking for the confirmation of bootloader unlocking. Use volume up & down keys to navigate through options and confirm unlocking.

  1. Download twrp_recovery for T3 10.img file and rename it to recovery.img.

Requirements

  2. Charge your phone good enough so that it doesn’t go dead during the installation process.
  3. Backup your call logs, contacts and SMS messages. Also backup your media content. This is important since unlocking the bootloader will completely wipe your phone.
  4. Enable OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging mode on your Redmi 5A.
  5. Use the OEM data cable to connect your phone to your PC.
  6. Unlock your Xiaomi Redmi 5A’s bootloader using this guide.
  7. Follow this guide carefully.

Required downloads and installations

  1. Download and install Minimal ADB and Fastboot drivers on your computer.
  2. Download and install Xiaomi USB drivers on your computer.
  3. Download TWRP Recovery file. Rename this file to recovery.img and copy it to C:Program Files (x86)Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder.
  4. Download SuperSU.zip or Magisk file and copy it to your phone’s internal or external storage.
  5. Download lazyflasher-no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip and copy it to your phone’s internal or external storage as well.

Install TWRP on Xiaomi Redmi 5A

  1. Connect your Xiaomi Redmi 5A to your computer now.
  2. Go to the folder  C:Program Files (x86)Minimal ADB and Fastboot and then launch the MAF32.exe file.
  3. Now in the command window, enter the following commands one by one.
    1. adb devices
      1. If this command returns a list of attached devices with a code, that means your phone’s connect has been established.
    2. adb reboot bootloader
      1. This command will reboot your phone into the bootloader mode.
    3. fastboot devices
      1. This command will confirm the connection in bootloader mode.
    4. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
      1. This will flash the TWRP recovery.img file that you renamed to recovery.img
    5. fastboot reboot recovery
      1. This will reboot your phone into the newly installed TWRP.

Rooting the Xiaomi Redmi 5A

  1. Now disconnect your phone from your PC.
  2. In the TWRP recovery, tap Install > Install Image > Locate Lazyflasher > Select this file > Swipe screen to flash.
  3. After flashing this file, get back to the main menu in TWRP.

  5. Flashing SuperSU will root your phone. You can reboot the system now.

Huawei’s mid-range smartphone the Honor 7X came out very recently with very powerful features onboard. Those of you have got the 7X, they can now unlock its bootloader, flash a TWRP custom recovery and root the phone. The custom solutions for this phone have landed in. It’s time to reveal the potential this phone has got.

The Honor 7X released just a few days ago. This phone has a 5.93-inch display having 18:9 display ratio. Huawei has proved that i can produce smartphones with an incredible display under a very affordable budget. This whopping display on the Honor 7X has full HD resolution as well. The 7X is powered by Huawei’s in-house Kirin 659 CPU. To accompany the CPU with the processing of graphics, there’s Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. Huawei Honor 7X has multiple variants. It has a 64GB and 4GB variant, there is the 32GB and 4GB variant and then there is a 32GB and 3GB variant. There is a dual 16MP + 2MP shooter setup at the back. On the front, this phone has a 2MP shooter. Now that Huawei has kept almost everything so good, there has to be some downside as well. The downside of this phone is the outdated firmware running on it. Huawei Honor 7X will run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Precautions & Preparation

  • This guide is intended for Huawei Honor 7X L21 only. Do not try this method on any other device otherwise, you may result in bricking it.
  • Make sure that your phone’s battery is charged up to 80% in order to avoid any power issues during the flashing process.
  • Backup all of your important contacts, call logs, SMS messages and media content to stay on a safe end. Do not forget to create a backup since this process is supposed to wipe your phone completely.
  • Enable USB debugging mode on your phone in developer options. To do so, go to settings > about device > tap build number for 7 times. You will have developer options in settings now. Open developer options > Enable USB debugging. If you have the OEM Unlocking option, enable it as well.
  • Use your original data cable to establish a connection between your phone and your PC.
  • Follow this guide to the letter to avoid any mishap.

How to Unlock Huawei Honor 7X Bootloader

  1. Unlocking bootloader will wipe your device. Make sure that you’ve backed up everything before going ahead.
  2. Install Huawei’s HiCare app on your phone and call the support in HiCare. Request them to get your bootloader unlock code. You will have to provide your email, IEMI and serial number.
  3. Huawei will send you your bootloader unlock code through an email in a few days or in a few hours.
  4. Make sure that you’ve downloaded and installed Minimal ADB & Fastboot drivers on your Windows PC or installed Mac ADB & Fastboot for Mac.
  5. Connect your phone to your PC now.
  6. Now open Minimal ADB & Fastboot.exe from your desktop. If you do not have this file on your desktop, then go to your Windows installation drive i.e. C drive > Program Files > Minimal ADB & Fastboot > Press and hold Shift Key + Right-click on an empty area with the open folder > click “Open command window here”.
  7. Now in the command window enter the following commands one by one.
  • adb reboot-bootloader

    This will reboot your Nvidia Shield in bootloader. Once booted up, issue the following command.

    fastboot devices

    This command will verify the connection of your device with your PC in fastboot mode.

  • fastboot oem unlock (bootloaderunlockcodexxxxxxxxxxxx)

    This command will unlock the bootloader. As soon as you press the enter key after typing this command, you will get a message in your phone asking for the confirmation of bootloader unlocking. Use volume up & down keys to navigate through options and confirm unlocking.

Install TWRP and Root Huawei Honor 7X

Required downloads [for the installation of TWRP and SuperSU]

  1. Download twrp_Honor_7x.img file and rename it to recovery.img.
  2. Download SuperSU.zip file and copy it to your phone’s external storage.
  3. Copy the renamed recovery.img file to the Minimal ADB and Fastboot directory which should be in a location such as: C drive > Program Files > Minimal ADB & Fastboot.
  4. Connect your Huawei Mate 10 Lite to the computer now.
  5. Now open Minimal ADB & Fastboot.exe from your desktop. If you do not have this file on your desktop, then go to your Windows installation drive i.e. C drive > Program Files > Minimal ADB & Fastboot > Press and hold Shift Key + Right-click on an empty area with the open folder > click “Open command window here”.
  6. As the command window opens up, enter the following commands one by one.
    1. adb devices
      1. This command will return a list of devices attached with a code verifying connection.
    2. adb reboot bootloader
      1. This command will reboot the phone in bootloader mode.
    3. fastboot devices
      1. This command will verify connection in fastboot mode.
    4. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
      1. This will flash the TWRP recovery on your phone.
    5. fastboot reboot
      1. This command will reboot your phone into the system.
  7. Once your phone has rebooted, turn it off.
  8. Now press and hold Volume Down + Power button to boot into newly installed TWRP recovery.
  9. Once you are in TWRP, tap Install > Locate and select SuperSU.zip > flash and reboot into the system.
  10. You are rooted now. Congrats!

Install TWRP and Root Xperia XZ1 with Magisk

It’s time to install TWRP on your brand new Xperia XZ1. With the TWRP recovery, you can also root your Xperia XZ1 using Magisk. This good thing for the Xperia XZ1 happened just today. XZ1 owners are now free to break the boundaries in order to unleash the true power of their phone.

The Xperia XZ1 originally came out back in August this year. The phone is equipped with a 5.2-inch screen with full HD resolution having Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Sony has powered it by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 CPU accompanied by Adreno 540 GPU. To boost up the CPU processing, Sony has installed a 4GB RAM. To fulfil your storage needs, there is a 64GB internal storage chip. It also has the expandable card slot. At the back, Xperia XZ1 has a 19MP shooter and on the front, it has a 13MP shooter. One of the best features of this phone is its software. The XZ1 ran on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. The downsides of this phone are its old design and the full HD display while the rest of the world has moved to QHD displays for the flagship phones. Sony didn’t upgrade its design language yet. Sony is sticking to many things old which are a reason for Sony’s boat to start sinking.

Anyways, we are here for the installation of TWRP recovery and rooting the Xperia XZ1. There are many benefits that you will get by installing a custom recovery on your phone. Backing up Nandroid, separate partitions, EFS, clearing Dalvik Cache, installing .zip, .img and other such files are just to name a few. TWRP’s installation will provide you with a gateway to root the phone as well. Once we have successfully installed the custom recovery, the Magisk.zip file can be flashed to root the phone immediately. All of this process is explained in this on-going tutorial. Let’s move towards the tutorial Install TWRP and Root Xperia XZ1 with Magisk. I will try to keep the guide as simple as possible so that even novice users can easily tweak their Xperia XZ1.

Here are the required downloads and installations:

  1. Download Sony USB drivers for Android and install them on your computer. Without USB drivers, you may not be able to establish a connection between your phone and your computer.
  2. Download Minimal Android ADB and Fastboot drivers. These are the best ADB and Fastboot drivers you can find. Minimal ADB and Fastboot will be used for unlocking the bootloader of the phone and then for flashing TWRP recovery.
  3. Download TWRP recovery file for the Xperia XZ1. Right after download the recovery file, rename the file to xperiaxz1.img.
  4. Download Andro+ kernel for the Xperia XZ1. This kernel is necessary to help the phone boot up with TWRP recovery.

There are a few precautions that you need to have before following the procedure. Read all the instructions given below carefully.

  1. This guide is only for the Xperia XZ1. You cannot follow this guide to install TWRP and Root any other phone.
  2. Make sure your phone has at least 50% of its battery juice. Trying to flash files on a phone with a low battery life is a risk. If the phone goes dead during the flashing process, you might end up bricking it.
  3. Backup your important data like the contacts, call logs, text messages and media content. This process requires unlocking the bootloader of your Xperia XZ1. Unlocking the bootloader will completely wipe your phone. It’s always better to have your data backed up.
  4. Get your original data cable to connect your phone to the computer.
  5. On your computer, disable windows firewall for a while.
  6. On your phone, go to settings > about device > tap the build number for 7 times to enable developer options. Once you have successfully enabled developer options, get back to settings and open them. In the developer options, enable USB debugging and OEM unlocking now.
  7. Now follow this guide to unlock the bootloader of Xperia XZ1. 
  8. After unlocking the bootloader, follow the steps given below to install TWRP and root Xperia XZ1.

Note: This is a custom process and it will void the warranty of your phone. Make sure that you are following this procedure at your own risk.

Install TWRP and Root Xperia XZ1 with Magisk

  1. At this point, your phone should have the bootloader unlocked. Download Magisk.zip file and copy it to your phone’s internal storage.
  2. Copy the downloaded and renamed TWRP recovery, which is now xperiaxz1.img file to the Minimal ADB and Fastboot directory. You can find the directory in your windows installation drive’s program x86 folder. It should be as C:Program Files x86Minimal ADB and Fastboot.
  3. Also, copy the boot.img which is the kernel file in the same Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder.
  4. Now open the cmd-here.exe from the Minimal ADB folder or Minimal ADB and Fastboot.exe file from your computer’s desktop.
  5. A command window will open up now.
  6. Enable OEM Unlocking and USB debugging on your phone. The instructions are given above.
  7. Connect your phone to your computer now.
  8. In the command window, enter the following commands one by one.
    1. adb devices
      1. This will return a list of attached devices with a code verifying connection.
    2. adb reboot bootloader
      1. This will reboot your phone into the bootloader.
    3. fastboot devices
      1. This will verify connection in bootloader mode.
    4. fastboot flash recovery xperiaxz1.img
      1. This will flash the TWRP recovery.img file.
    5. fastboot flash boot boot.img
      1. This will flash the kernel.
    6. fastboot flash FOTAkernal boot.img
      1. This will flash the kernel.
    7. fastboot reboot
      1. This will reboot the system.
  9. Once your phone reboots, shut it down completely.
  10. It’s time to boot into the TWRP custom recoveryy now. To do so, power on your phone by pressing the power button + volume down button. As the phone vibrates, let the power button go and keep the volume down key pressed. TWRP will open up in a few seconds.
  11. TWRP will now ask you for a password on the splash screen. If you were using a password or pin on your phone previously, that same password will work here. If there was no password or pin, then you can use this password: default_password.
  12. You will see TWRP in a while. Now in TWRP, tap Install > Locate and select Magisk.zip file and flash it.
  13. Reboot your phone now. Install Magisk manager from the play store to manage root. That’s all.
